John Sherwin Family Fund Garden


The John Sherwin Family Fund Garden is a cluster of garden beds in the northwest corner of Public Square. These gardens are located in the area of the Overlook Hill, which features the signature tree on the western edge of the Gund Foundation Green. The John Sherwin Family Fund Gardens are filled with the following types of trees, shrubs, and flowers: Eastern Redbud, Flowering Dogwood, Jelena Witch Hazel, Limelight Hydrangea, Mountain Hydrangea, Winterberry, Inkberry, Japanese Mahonia, Blue Wood Aster, Pennsylvania Sedge, Purple Lovegrass, Flowering Spurge, Tall Bearded Iris, Switchgrass, Obedient Plant, Christmas Fern, Dwarf Quilled Black-Eyed Susan, Great Burnet, Heart Leaved Skullcap, Solomon's Seal.



From this vantage point, you can look west down Superior Avenue towards the warehouse district. If you look to the north you'll see the iconic Old Stone Church. Guests who are in The Square for our self-guided walking tour of the gardens should walk northwest around the outer rim of Overlook Hill. The beautiful granite paver pathway below is known as the KeyBank Promenade.
