  • Yes, as a City of Cleveland property, various permits will be required for your event, which will include a Special Events permit. Your dedicated staff person will help explain any other required permits based on the unique circumstances of your event. In addition to permits, a Certificate of Insurance is also required.

  • §  30 days minimum is required to ensure permits can be obtained, but ideally 90-120 days is allotted to successfully plan an event.

  • Yes, there is a per diem rental fee. This ranges based on type of organization and location. For example, individual rates start at $100 and for-profit rates go up to $7,500. Your dedicated staff person can accurately estimate your rental fee based on your unique event.

  • There is access to electricity and water throughout Public Square. A site map showing locations of hook-ups will be provided for planning purposes.

  • Yes, we provide all event planners with a list of preferred vendors for most common services, such as A/V, janitorial, rentals, and security.

  • Yes, alcohol service may be permitted at special events with strict requirements. Event producers must adhere to Downtown Cleveland’s F8 permit requirements, which includes additional agreements, fee/sales structure, and liquor liability insurance.
