Flags For Honor Sept. 8-11 In Public Square


The FBI Cleveland Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBICLECAAA) will be displaying 600 U.S. flags in Cleveland Public Square Friday, September 8 through Monday, September 11.

The fourth annual “Flags for Honor” includes a medallion on each flag honoring both active and fallen military, police, firefighters, FBI Agents, medical professionals, teachers, coaches, friends and family. The FBICLECAAA will begin setting-up the flags Friday morning at 8:00 AM and should be done by 11:00 AM. Friday, September 8, at noon, there will be a ceremony in Public Square to officially open the “Flags for Honor" display. It will be open to the public to view for the next four days. Monday, September 11, Patriot Day, there will be a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Public Square beginning at 8:30 AM. Members will lay a wreath in the Memorial Room signifying the events of 9/11. Monday at 11:30 AM there will be a Memorial Service honoring the lives lost on 9/11 including 343 FDNY firefighters and 72 police/port authority officers. The public is encouraged to attend both ceremonies.
