Thea DeRosa Cerra, Director of Development

Thea DeRosa Cerra is an experienced nonprofit leader, with over 15 years of experience leading program and development teams.

Her nonprofit career began at The Greater Cleveland Food Bank as the Harvest for Hunger Campaign Aide. She spent almost 12 years serving Cuyahoga County by expanding feeding programs that served under-resourced neighborhoods in our community. In her last role, as Director of Programs, she oversaw a budget of close to $3 million and a team of seven hard-working individuals.

Most recently, Thea served as the Managing Director of Development for City Year Cleveland. In this role, she managed a team of four individuals and oversaw the fundraising efforts for the organization. Responsible for raising almost $2 million from foundations, corporate and individual donations.

Thea is an AmeriCorps City Year Alumni, serving in 2000-2001. She has served as a board member for The May Dugan Center and The Cleveland Young Professional 2030 Club.


Group Plan Commission’s diversified funding model consists of three key parts: public, private and earned revenue. Thea will focus on the growth of our private revenue by cultivating and stewarding individual, corporate and foundation partners. She will lead a community-wide development campaign.
